Petron blaze Boosters tied the texters with 1-1 at the best of seven series held at Smart Araneta Coliseum. The boosters bounce back back with the lost they incurred last Thursday and started strong at the first minutes of action scoring 9-2. Petron continued there tight defense and well rounded offense ending the first quarter 26-18. The texters tries to bounce back in the second quarter slowly but surely with the help of their to gunner Jimmy Alapag. The second quarter ended 41-41, The texters outscoring the boosters in the quarter.
The third quarter was a turning point when Petron's top guard Alex Cabagnot explode, lifting the team and scoring double digit in just one quarter. The Boosters also recorded eight (8) assist in the game compared to to the Texters scoring zero(0). on the other side, Jason Castro also answers back the points incurred by Cabagnot but the quarter still ended 66-57 in favor of Petron. The fourth quarter story started with the Texters trying to minimize the lead but Petron was consistent and pile up their lead up to 16 points. The change of atmosphere happened when Castro was charged of Technical foul because of bouncing of the ball. The run of the Boosters was stopped when Japheth Aguilar slammed the ball and Jimmy Alapag firing a three point basket. The booster tries to regain the momentum and they were successful. Danny Ildefonso took a crucial two point shot that gain Petron a comfortable lead at the last minute. Petron won the game 91-89 and Ildefonso became the Best Player of the game.
