AKTV announces on April 16, 2012 that Alaska Aces has acquired a new coach in the person of Luigi Trillo- the ongoing coach of the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems. Coach Luigi Trillo will replace Joel Banal as the head coach of the aces. Coach Joel Banal becomes the head coach of the team when Coach Tim Cone moved to B-meg llamados after many years of coaching stint on the team.
Coach Luigi Trillo said that he will reestablish triangle offense in the team. Alaska Aces was eliminated by Barako Bull in the quarter finals match of the Commissioners Cup.
